I was the Lead Designer on my Global Game Jam team. The theme was “waves”, and I collaborated with an artist and programmer to develop game mechanics and assets for a game in a 48 hour time period. Lamarr began with my idea of using radio waves to interact with an environment in a nonviolent way, and morphed into a 2D side scrolling exploration game where a young hero navigates an abandoned alien environment equipped only with her trusty radio. We built the game in Unity and wrote in C# scripts. I programmed as well as designed the demo level to showcase all three of the radio settings (electronic interference, enemy stun, and echolocation).
My team showcased an updated version of this game at the 2017 MassDiGi Game Challenge.
